The Collapsible Helmet By Park & Diamond is a Must Buy For All Bikers

By John

So I recently took my bike out of storage after five years.

With a nice little tuneup from a local bike shop, I was hitting the road like I never stopped riding.

Thinking I was 21, I rode without safety in mind, which is a big no-no in the world of parenting and having to care for little people you created.

Biking is fun, and I love everything about it, but safety has been a huge priority for my other half as the statistics of biker accidents have really put her on her toes.

With that concern, I was in the market for a new helmet.

This adventure was not the greatest, as I flat-out looked goofy in every single one I tried on.

I mean, it’s not like I have many options to begin with.

But within two weeks of looking for a simple helmet that could be somewhat stylish and safe, I have finally found one that can do its job exactly that.

Introducing the collapsible helmet by Park & Diamond.

This thing could not come at a better time, and I’m glad that such a product was created.

To put a little damper on my excitement, the helmet is actually a crowdfunding project, which means I won’t be able to get it until as early as February of next year.

Not a total bummer as I can wait, but that only means that I will need to purchase a regular old helmet in the meantime.

But with that being said, I wanted to share with you a little more about what this collapsible helmet has to offer and why I have backed this project.

Product Overview

Created by David Hall and Joran Klein, the collapsible helmet is definitely one of a kind.

Due to a bike accident that one of their sisters encountered, these two set out to create something safer than a traditional bike helmet.

What started as something designed for safety turned into something very innovative, stylish, and very much one of a kind.

But is it really worth waiting for?

With just a chance to be purchased through a crowdfunding campaign, let’s see what this cool invention has to offer.

Looks & Style

This alone is enough for me to get the collapsible helmet.

You heard my story about how I could not find a helmet to fit my weird-shaped head, but I’m more than sure that this is the solution.

And if that doesn’t impress you, how about some interchangeable skins?

Because that is what you can expect if you get the collapsible helmet.

With the look of a baseball cap, I am more than willing to wear this bad boy if it means that I will be that much safer while I go out there trying to be Lance Armstrong.

I’m sure you can agree that this is the best-looking “helmet” out there and one that really can’t be beaten.

But is it Safe?

Supposedly, this is not just safe, but it is a lot safer than a traditional helmet.

For me, as long as it does the job, then I think it is already awesome.

Now if you’ve seen the little video on the actual site, it does look like a better solution to safety as it shows that it absorbs impact a lot better.

If you haven’t seen the video, you can take a look at it below to see what I’m talking about.

This thing was built to be a helmet and not a baseball cap, so it better does its job of keeping your head safe if anything should happen.

Portability

Collapsible is the word that caught my attention, so you can bet that this is one portable piece of equipment.

Being that I am a biker/backpacker that rides to different coffee shops to get my work done, I really don’t like having to carry around a regular old bike helmet.

It would be a different story if I rode a motorcycle that allowed me to carry around one of those cool helmets like all motorcyclists are able to do.

But that’s not the case here.

Thanks to the fine gentlemen that brought us the collapsible helmet, I will be able to store this in my backpack.

Then again, I really don’t mind the way it looks, so I can just leave it out to show it off.

It is collapsible, though, so it can definitely fit in a backpack if need be.

The Price & Shipping Dates

A little on the pricier side, the collapsible helmet is going for $84.

This deal is for the early bird special and is only available right now.

Now the more helmets you get,  the more the price will go down but don’t expect it next week as the earliest shipment date is in February of 2019.

Conclusion

I must say that I am very impressed with the collapsible bike helmet.

You can bet that I have backed this product, and I am confident that it will be worth every penny spent.

If you’re anything like me and you like cool gear, then this is great for you.

If, of course, you have the need for such a product.

I give this helmet 9.8/10 stars, and I am looking forward to getting mine in the mail.
