Flectr has some safety products that you might find to be quite interesting.
With a more advanced approach to reflectors, will this be something you should actually invest in or is it not worth your hard earned money?
As more of a commuter type biker, I find this to be somewhat unique but the price attached to it wasn’t really attractive.
I mean, what’s wrong with having some good bike lights along with the basic reflectors that bikes come with in the first place?
Before assuming anything, I had to dig a little deeper to see what was really behind this product and what it’s actually good for.
So let me give you a little more insight on the Flectr products so you can decide if this is really a worthwhile investment or not.
So What is Flectr?
Flectr is a company that specializes in bike safety gear, specifically focused on reflector type products.
What once was a Kickstarter product, they have now gone right into selling their products through their own website at flectr.bike.
With the idea of lessening the weight on your bike, the company caters to racers and everyone else who is not looking to add more unnecessary weight to their bike.
With various products that you won’t find in your local bike shop, let’s see what you can expect from the company that brings anything dull to life.
Flectr Zero
Flectr Zero the first bike reflector that is designed for your bike’s wheel.
It weighs almost nothing and is a great alternative to regular old bike wheel reflectors.
No tools are required to attach the reflectors and they fit any kind of spokes.
These reflectors act like the flight of a dart as they provide that light weight but sturdy feeling, all while cutting through the air for that aerodynamic experience.
You can place them anywhere you want and you can also use as many as you desire as well.
Flectr 360 OMNI
These reflectors go on the rim of your bike.
Designed for the ever evolving bike rim, these reflectors are supposed to adapt and fit any bike rim out there.
Just like Flectr Zero, these reflectors can be customized to fit your taste.
They come with different design patterns as well as the red, yellow, and silver colors.
No tools are required for putting them on and this goes for every other Flectr product.
Bike Frame Kit
The bike frame reflectors are probably my most favorite of all Flectr’s products.
Although my Cannondale SL3 already came with a lot of reflective type stickers, I think that this product can change a lot of things.
One, it can add more visibility, which is the whole idea behind their products in the first place.
Two, it can protect your bike’s frame from all the dings and scratches that come naturally with some basic riding.
Most bikes come with such protection but none that I have seen come with the type of reflectivity that Flectr provides.
And if this doesn’t do it for you, you might like the Gravel Guard, which I will be covering on here shortly.
Lastly, I like the different colors it comes in as it will have you feeling like you have a new bike in no time.
With black, silver-white, lemon yellow, and red to choose from, you can bet that any of these will match your bike’s color.
Reflective Helmet Kits
I don’t know about you but I have never thought about making myself and my bike reflective but I guess you can leave it up to these guys to make it happen.
My bike helmet (Fox Flux) is completely black and could definitely use this.
On top of being safer, I’m all about giving my bike gear a little facelift without compromising the look I got them for in the first place.
With this product however, I think it makes for a much better look and with the technology behind its reflectors, you can always appreciate better safety.
Flectr Vortex
How about some 360 reflectors for your pedals?
Because that’s what the Flectr Vortex is about.
Not necessarily for the actual pedal but for the cranks, this is the first of its kind.
Another 360 feature, the Vortex allows you to be seen from all angles.
Now add this to the motion from peddling and you can bet that you will be seen a lot better than what the other regular reflectors provide.
I’m actually a fan of this specific product and for around $14, I think that’s a fair price.
If of course they are as durable as they say.
Flectr Gravel Guard
No one wants a scratched, dinged, or chipped bike frame and that is why they have things like the Flectr Gravel Guard.
I don’t know about you guys but my bike actually came with some pretty cool guards and it actually goes with the overall design of my bike.
For the past 5 years, it has done a pretty darn good job at keeping my bike scratch free, so I don’t think I will be needing this specific product.
For those of you who don’t have the luxury, you might want to consider these as they look like they can do one heck of a job.
They do go on clearly and they are really easy to apply, although done differently from the reflectors.
Final Thoughts
You can never be too safe and I think Flectr’s products will add to the positive side of the equation.
Reflectors are a very good invention and with their advanced technology, I think it will work a lot better.
There are many different types to choose from and I don’t recommend using all of them as we still want to keep the look that made us buy our bikes in the first place.
Keep it simple and get what you feel you need.
Maybe some Beryl bike lights will be a good addition as well, so consider those if you are in the market for some new bike lights.
Besides that, I think the peeps behind this product have done a great job and I love their slogan as well.
So consider Flectr when you think safety, give it a nice little upgrade, and “love your bike” that much more.
